Our business areas ECM and EVU

PORR AustriaRail GmbH is an independent company and wholly owned subsidiary of PORR Bau GmbH and offers services as an ECM (certified maintenance centre for rail vehicles) and as an RU (rail transport company).

ECM business division

Since February 2016, our company has been certified as an ECM (Entity in Charge of Maintenance - certified maintenance centre) in accordance with Regulation (EU) 455/2011 and listed in the ERADIS database (European Rail Agency Database of Interoperability and Safety). A currently valid certification in accordance with Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/779 has been available since 2021.

As an ECM, we fulfil all four functions of Regulation (EU) 2019/779 and, in addition to management services, fleet management and maintenance development, we also provide maintenance activities as an operational workshop operation and on a mobile basis.

RU business segment

PORR AustriaRail GmbH qualified as a rail undertaking (RU) in Austria with its inaugural journey in March 2017. An RU is a rail undertaking that is authorised to provide rail transport services on the rail infrastructure of main and branch lines. Among other things, an RU is used to plan and monitor the operational process on construction sites in the rail sector.

PORR AustriaRail GmbH can plan and carry out such journeys independently and autonomously. This task is carried out both centrally for PORR Bau GmbH's BIB Rail and Civil Engineering department and for external clients.
