New railway station for the Lower Austrian regional capital.
PORR took over in consortium all earth, concrete and bridging works for the reconstruction of the St. Pölten main station. In the process, the 60 m long pedestrian tunnel- east with three platform accesses, 7 platforms, the 380 m long north side cantilever wall 2, a station passage and the 76 m long Schöpferstraße underpass were newly erected in the station area. The existing pedestrian passage was adapted and the 92 m long Praterstraße underpass removed and rebuilt. In addition, the contract also contained various hydraulic structures such as retention chambers and retaining reservoirs.
Some of the construction work was carried out in the danger zone of tracks without track barriers.
